Celebrating the 155th birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori
1 Sep 25 At Sekolah Montessori Kiara Karitas, we joyfully celebrated the 155th birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori. From Toddler to Elementary, the children played games that nurtured joy, cooperation, and independence—true to Montessori’s vision of learning through experience. We then gathered around the cake, and one by one each teacher placed a red knobless cylinder, a symbol of the prepared environment and the discoveries it offers. At the end, we lit the candle and blew it out, giving thanks for the life and legacy of Maria Montessori, whose philosophy continues to inspire our daily work with the children.
