How to Enroll

Steps to Enrolment in Preschool and Primary (Stages 1-4)

  • Attend a school tour or the Open House at Sekolah Montessori Kiara Karitas.
  • Make an appointment for a class trial with the school admission staff.
  • Meet with the Principal.
  • Acceptance of a place and submit application forms, together with applicable fees.

Attend a School Tour

Attendance at a school tour or Open House is a prerequisite to being offered a place in our school. The school tour's purpose is to visit classrooms and learn more about the Montessori learning philosophy. Enrollment is accepted on the assumption that the parent (s) will be supportive of the pedagogy and philosophical foundations of the school, and for those new Montessori, it is important that they have the opportunity to observe the uniqueness of the program.

Offers of Enrolment

Generally, vacancies only arise at the beginning of the year, but from time to time one may occur during the year. Offers of enrolment for the next school year start to be issued in September of the previous school year. If vacancies arise during the year, they can be filled immediately. Offers can only be made to a child of suitable age at the time of the vacancy.

A non-refundable confirmation payment will be required with the acceptance of the offer.

Enrolment Fee

Before the child can begin at Sekolah Montessori Kiara Karitas, an enrolment fee is required per child. The enrolment fee is not refundable. Download our fee schedule here.

Cycle Commitment

It is an important aspect of a Montessori classroom that children complete the full cycle; one/two years for 1.5-3 year olds, three years for 3-6, 6-9, and 9-12 year olds. Families who enroll their children in preschool and primary classes are expected to understand they are making a commitment for their child for a three-year period in each cycle. Children’s enrolment is ongoing until Year 6 level unless one full term’s notice is given.

Parent Involvement

Community is an important part of the Montessori philosophy. We ask that parents participate in various events and projects throughout the year as part of modelling for our children the commitment to building a community. This might include fund-raising, or community events.
